Confused? Try:

This web application lets you search the internet for local businesses and see when they are open.

In order to use HoursFinder, type some search terms into the "Search for" box and hit search.

Optionally, you can type something into the "Near" box to give a more specific location. (The default value is your zip code.)

If the results don't seem to contain what you're looking for or are in the wrong location, try rephrasing your search queries. Any syntax or arguments supported by Google should work here.

Navigating the Results Page

After you hit search, you will see a number of results. To go to a Google summary page with more information about each businiess (such as reviews and directions), click on the result name. After the animated loading icons dissapear, there will be snippets pulled from websites which hopefully include the hours of operation of the business. Since this process isn't 100% accurate, you may end up with conflicting or nonsensical information. This is why the top three hour information results are displayed for each business instead of just one. Before you leave for a business, you might want to click on the link next to the hours information to go to its source and double check that it is correct, or call the number provided for the business.

To hide a result, hit the 'x' button to the right of the result. To unhide a result, click on the 'show details' link to the right of the result title. To see more results, hit the bar at the bottom of the results page labeled "Click here for more results!" and more results will be added at the bottom of the page. Since the page won't reload, you'll get to keep all of your previously loaded results and any results you've closed will remain closed.
